Hi I have just recently installed nexuiz on ubuntu gutsy and am getting poor performance with all of the walls on the map very pixely and everything is very glitchy I have a radeon xpress 200M video card on a AMD Turion 64 processor with a gig of RAM your help will be greatly appreciated!!! (also i have installed the proprietary drivers for ATI however i get a no for direct rendering when i run glxinfo)

Well that direct rendering: no means the drivers you have installed are not really used.. Probably you forget to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf to use them?

yea your right i fixed my rendering but now i have slow fps

i have a fps of around 60 when not in a firefight but then when things get heated it drops to around 15... any tips on boosting the fps? thanks for your help

Well from what i know the radeon express is not really a powerful card and ATI drivers on linux tend to suck (though they are getting better now that AMD bought them..) best try is to use the settings/effects LOW button and also try to disable vertex buffer objects and see if opengl 2.0 shader on or off is working better, i have no idea which of the two settings will be better for that card..
