Mouse issues

I am running Nexuiz 2.4 (tried both with and without hotfix) on Ubuntu 8.04. My system is a Mac Pro. The game works flawlessly except for one problem -- the mouse doesn't seem to want to allow me to look around while I am moving forward at the same time. If I stop moving, I can look around again, but as soon as I start moving forward, it stops letting me change my view until I stop moving.

This seems like a rather strange problem. Has anyone ever experience this or know a workaround/solution?

Are you using the sdl version or the other one? Also, can you change your view using the directional keys while running forward? I know this won't be a solution if you can but it will help us understand what is happening .

I'm using the glx version. I can run the sdl version in X, but it flickers b/c it's being drawn in a window... the sdl version has the same problem.

I can't seem to find any keys that will perform what mouselook would accomplish... the directionals seemed to be doing the same forward, backpedal, strafe left, and right that the wsad keys do. All of those seem to work fine... just looking around doesn't seem to work while walking (in any direction) using the wsad or directional keys.

sometimes mac mouse are plugged in the keyboard usb port. try plugging it directly in the computer. maybe it would help

never heared of such a problem.. Do you have the stock mouse/keyboard or other ones?

plugging the mouse directly into the computer has no effect -- good idea, though.
I have the stock keyboard, but I replaced the mouse with a Logitech MX510 (I'm a PC convert, but they just couldn't get me to convert all the way... I still run linux and winblows, and I still can't stand the standard Mac mice).

I've never had a problem with the mouse or keyboard in anything else... in any of the 3 OSes. I'm going to install Quake3 in Linux and see what happens.

How did quake3 do with your mouse?

have you tried using other keys then wasd for the movement? You can change them in the menu.. maybe this info helps..

On the other hand ubuntu means X, what mouse driver do you use in X? Some people have problems with the evdev driver.

BTW someone mentioned on irc that 'mouseemu' could be the cause of your problems!!!
