problem with 2.3

hello,
for some reason i cannot connect to all public servers including galts...i can, however, connect to a few other servers...when i try to connect i get something like this
"CL_VM_Init:server requires CSQC, but "csprogs.dat" wasn't found
CDAudio: Bad track number 0.
No level loaded!"

and then it says that a bunch of textures and .wav's can't be found....

i am running 2.3 on windows vista because my laptop does not have a good enough grafx chip for smooth gameplay for 2.4.2...does this matter?

I don't understand why you're still using 2.3. Nexuiz 2.4.2 is out for months

Apparently Galt is using new Nexuiz beta servers.
2.3 is not compatible with those servers, 2.4 or above is needed.

Its very hard to imagine 2.3 runs well while 2.4.2 does not. How big is the difference, and what settings do you use? In 2.4.2 some settings were changed so the default might be a bit slower, but at the same settings 2.4.2 should even be a bit faster..

i can only get about 40 fps on low settings for 2.4...i have a shared memory graphics chip that runs 2.3 perfectly, nice and smooth...is there some setting to make it run faster?

Well 2.3 is rather old.. i'm not totaly sure what changed between versions but first thing to try would be and see those vertex buffers, there are like 4 settings. I'll try to find time to see what else changed..
