Mouse freeze in suse 11 KDE

During gameplay , i guess when the mobo starts getting too hot , the cpu fan will kick in high gear . when this happens my mouse locks up . the keyboard is fine . this only happens in linux . i dont have anything else running because i have a hard enough time with my internet slowing me down .

mouse : optical , usb
OS : dual boot . xp, Suse 11 KDE
system : integrated nvidia 6100 , amd 64x2 , dualcore 4200+,2.2ghz , 2 gb ram ,

is this a hardware issue , or some setting i need to improve ?

Sounds to me like the screensaver is stealing mouse input. Try disabling it and see if it still happens.

screensaver is off . its one of the first things i did after installing opensuse . thanx for the help though

hi grasshoper, the fact that it happen exactly when the fan kicks in leads me into thinking that some process might be going mad and take 100% of the cpu(s) stealing all the cpu juice for anything else including nexuiz.

to see what is doing that , if ever it is whats happening, try playing in windowed mode while also having a terminal window open running the command "top".
when the mouse locking will happen u will be able to see wich process is taking 100%.
