Postby DinkyMan » Fri Oct 31, 2008 7:45 pm

Hello I'm using Ubuntu and would like to play Nexuiz but when I installed it using the Add/Remove option it still doesn't work. When I click the icon the screen just flashes a couple times and then goes on like nothing happened. When run it in the terminal it says:

I've used 2.4 on Hardy 8.04 and just upgraded to Intrepid 8.10 which has 2.4.2 and although I have a different issue it's always got further that your log there..

The lines following what you're seeing are for me
Using SDL library version 1.2.12
GL_VENDOR: NVIDIA Corporation
GL_RENDERER: GeForce 8300 GS/PCI/SSE2
GL_VERSION: 2.1.2 NVIDIA 177.80
...

Are you sure you've got your third party hardware drivers running/installed?
System/Administration/Hardware Drivers might show them not active??

Just a guess.. :)

yes I am sure because when I goto the Hardware Drivers section it says that the drivers are activated and currently in use. With a bing green light.

Try "glxinfo".
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
