Ok... so i've been playing this game for a long while and about six months ago Nexuiz has started crashing on me randomly. At first i ignored it but now i can barley get through a map without crashing. i have a Mac 10.4.11 (Tiger). My best guess is that it's over heating, but i have literally NO IDEA.

Yes i'm scorp, and yes i'm software retarded, so please be detailed in your responses.
If i can't get this fixed, i'm contemplating quitting Nexuiz.

P.S if this helps, all the FPSs i've played in that 6 month span also crashed on me.

I doubt this is Nexuiz's fault, but Apple's. Nothing we can change. All you can do is trying general workarounds for graphics driver bugs:

Try turning all effects down (click the "Low" button). Then enable vsync (keeps the temperature of the graphics card down).

Disable VBO and OpenGL 2.0 Shaders.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Hello Scorp,

I know that Apple had a lot of problems with the Nvidia GPUs. Some of the MacBooks were shipped with faulty Nvidia GPUs that produce total system crashes when getting too hot. You might want to search the internet for this problem, if I remember correctly there also was a press release somewhen this year from apple regarding this problem. If you have a MacBook and if it turns out to be affected, Apple might exchange the GPU or the complete motherboard. Also, updated Drivers might help to let the fan kick in earlier, preventing overheat.

Hope I could be of help!

Ok i turned down the graphics to low, and so far (like 4 hours) there hasn't been any crashes. Thanks for the help, i'll post another if it still crashes.
