Graphics error in the menu.

Ok. I'm pretty new to ubuntu, and linux as a whole.
But when I'm starting the game with ' nexuiz-linux-sdl.sh ' it gives me the splash screen, which is fine. After some seconds i see the menu and the music starts playing.

But after a while when i were in the video menu the graphic clicks, showing me only black background and some of the menus in extreme teared graphics.

I don't have to do anything particular. I thought it was a one time thing, the first time it happened.
So i started the .sh once again.
This time i was configuring my crosshair, or something like that. But the same thing happened. I thought it was a prob with the nexuiz/linux relation or something like that. So i started it up through 'Wine'. But the same thing happened there.

I read some FAQ shit that looked like this prob. and it said that i should update my graphicsdrivers (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 aka GMA X3100).
But I got the latest already.

Like i said, I'm really new to the whole linux thing. So please tell me if there's some noobish prob. that i'm doing.
Also, i'm running on a laptop(Zepto 6025WD) if that helps.

Edit: Feel free to add me on msn if it's easier.

Edit2: I tried to quickly start the game before it happened. What happened was that i saw some console commands going on in the game. Then it shutdown without a warning. I come to the desktop of my comp. The mouse is stuck and the resolution went to 800x600(prolly the one i use in the game). The keyboard works though. I manage to logout and login to reset the mouse and resolution.

Edit3: I tried another game called 'OpenArena' which got the same prob ;/
The strange thing is that i can play. The FPS is swarming, but after a while it gets bugged.
I'm downloading Nexuiz for the Virtualbox( Windows XP) now to see if that works better.

Sounds like you have not (yet) installed 'real' graphic drivers! I bet the output of
Code: Select all
glxinfo | grep --color -i 'string\|direct'
will show that direct rendering is disabled. They to install 3d accelerated drivers for your graphic card.
