Flickering on Monitor

Postby Daedalus » Tue Jun 13, 2006 9:34 am

Nex 2.0 runs fine for me, but Gonzo has some weird problems with his display. after the loading screen finishes, there's this strange flickering on his display, like his monitor is running on 30 Hz, though an analysis proved its running on 75 Hz. its there all the time, in the menu and ingame.
is this a known problem and does anyone have a solution ?
his specs are:

P4 3.0 / Gf FX 5900 / 1 Gig RAM

cheers

OS and driver info might be helpful, too.

Does changing vid_refresh on the console help?
e.g.: vid_refresh 75; vid_restart

Also please mention if he uses dual monitor. Maybe this information will help. There once has been a bug when using two monitors running windows, that one should be fixed but one can never be too sure ;). Only using one monitor (disabling the other in the system settings) might help then.

I use the same driver with a Geforce 6600. No problems at all.

I remember about years ago when my company's CAM Application changed the resolution automatically, there were cheaper Displays who began flickering and making scary noises. Disappeared after a few seconds. Better models didn't show reactions like that.

What about using windowed mode?

Ah, color depth both Nexuiz and OS set to 32'?

If he is indeed running a dual+ monitor display, just disabling hardward gamma in the menu may fix the issue.

While he might not be using dual monitors, it might be set so in the nvidia manu.
I had this issue a long time ago. Check that just for shits and giggles.
