A lot of distributions include Nexuiz, so maybe you can simply start the package manager and install it with a single click. I have no idea about mandriva though. Try searching for "nexuiz mandriva" on google maybe?
And then on the other hand usually you have to install 'real' 3d drivers. Again i'm not sure if mandriva will help there.. but i think mandriva is one of those distributions that try to make everything easy so maybe they are already installed.

It is not that complex once you learn the difference between OSs.

Just go to Mandriva Control Center or type MCC in Konsole.

You could also run 'Install & remove Software' in the Mandriva Menu and search for Nexuiz.

I recommend installing the SDL version since it seems to be faster (At least in my PC).

I don't remember if you need to activate the Backport Repositories or not. But go ahead and activate them just in case.

Again. In MCC, Software Management, Configure media Sources for Install and Update.

I think it's necessary to install the gstreamer-SDL for SDL to work. (Sorry, I just go ahead and install all gstreamer stuff).

just unzip your nexuiz zip file to a folder, mine is in usr/local/games. Then i created a folder called nexuiz in the games folder. Then I unzipped the files to that folder. Make sure you have the latest sound and video drivers, and any other driver updates done as well :)

After all that is done, you can run the script for whatever you want, sdl, glx for 32 or 64 bit.

When i installed my video drivers (nvidia 8800gts) I had to go to runlevel 3 (basically command prompt because the x server could not be running at the time. There usually is instructions on how to install your drivers from the site, usually in a readme.txt file after you download the drivers.

some drivers are easy to install where you just extract the files run ./configure, /make, /make install
