Flashing screen

Postby H17M4N » Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:01 am

There's a bug that's bothering me, which is when I start playing, or switching levels, my screen repeatedly flashes the previous screen, and current screen back and forth. Each time it bothers my eyes, and each time, I had to exit the game, and restart it. Is this my problem, or do I wait for the next patch. The nexuiz version I'm using now is 2.4.2. I didn't have this problem in earlier versions of nexuiz. Can someone explain to me please?

thanks,
Hitman

Maybe the new version(s) use some graphic feature your card or drivers do not like.. thus please do what alpha said ;)

If you have an Intel GPU (like me) search on this forum, someone managed to deactivate a "blit" thing (iirc) on the driver properties to fix this problem.
As I don't have this setting (thanks to some weird Dell restriction) what I do when my screen starts flashing is to minimize Nexuiz with <windows key> + D and maximize it again. It doesn't takes too much time.

Hope it helps.

Well done mand1nga, I almost had forgotten that problem. But IIRC it was only on windows so far. Maybe i would have remembered it if that guy mentioned he uses windows :D

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
Also my PC specs:
MS Windows XP Professional SP3
Intel Pentium M processor 1.70GHz
503MB RAM
Mobil Intel 915GMGMS
910GML Express chipset Family

EDIT:
I have a laptop, so the post didn't really help.

It's not a big deal since I can play on my desktop fine, and I'm getting new computers over the summer.
