[Solved] No Opponents Singleplayer Level 8 TDM: Aggressor

Nexuiz-SDL 2.5, on OSX, Singleplayer...reached level 8: TDM: Aggressor...no opponents show up...can enter game, but unable to advance through level (since there's no one to beat)

Looking at console reveals following message:

EMERGENCY: cant play the selected map in the given game mode. Falling back to a supported mode. campaign initialization failed: wrong game type!

Any suggestions on how to resolve would be appreciated.

This is really strange .. Have you downloaded any other version of the map aggressor?

no, only have what was in the download.

What is strange, is that if I choose Instant Action, Random Map, if Aggressor Map comes up, the bots are there.

Have you played Nexuiz before? On mac and linux it stores files in ~/.nexuiz/data which are then shared between installations.. maybe you have some bad file there? Otherwise make sure that you extract 2.5. into a directory of its own, if you extract it over old installations there can be problems.

Yes, I've played the previous version of Nexuiz before, no problems. I've deleted the previous version and installed 2.5 into its own new directory. Going to try install on another machine, see if I can duplicate it.

Same error happening with fresh install of Nexuiz 2.5.2. Also seems to have happened to someone else on a different map, see http://forums.alientrap.local/viewtopic.php?t=5138

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had this problem once. I think I just edited my campaign.cfg file to skip it. :D

OK, I was able to figure it out.

Nexuiz 2.5.2 (got stuck on level 9: TDM Agressor)

Decompress data20091001.pk3
In the data20091001/maps directory, open campaignnexuiz25.txt

change "tdm", "aggressor" to "dm", "aggressor"

change "tdm", "downer" to "dm", downer"

change "tdm", "warfarer" to "dm", warfare"

(I found that the next two levels exhibited the same behavior, so I changed both downer and warfare entries)

Compress data20091001 directory back to .pk3
