From the link:
**Important**
The Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility provides _functionality_ for AGP and USB, _not_ AGP or USB drivers. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS UTILITY IF YOUR DEVICE MANUFACTURER IS RECOMMENDING IT TO CORRECT AN "AGP DRIVER," "AGP GART," OR "USB DRIVER" ISSUE; IT WILL NOT CORRECT YOUR ISSUE.

Hmm maybe you should take a look at the motherboard manufacturer homepage and serach for drivers there.

Is my motherboard manufacturer dell or intel?

Hard to say if intel did provide the motherboard. Dell for sure did not they just buy stuff from others. I can't look up the HW config on the dell page, so maybe its best to take a look at the order list to see what hardware your computer has.

Well at least my sound driver problem seems to be solved now :)

Well, I would suggest to download and run a diagnostics software, such as Sisoft Sandra or somding like that. With a little luck You'll get the real manufacturer, better chipset infos and an overview for the installed drivers.

Still I have my doubts if sloggycrouton really installed any chipset drivers.

That Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility seems to be a Tool to be used for installing drivers, but that's not the drivers themself !! No way of a possibility to install new drivers without a reboot, they should have to initialise first IMO! Sure!

I got Sisoft Sandra, but I can't find any new info. It says the same thing about the chipset, and it doesn't help me any to get drivers.

Just to say, I'm n linux and i have a similar player related problem.

Without players I can get 150+ fps, with players, I usually top 20. It's actually playable, just very chunky.

confirmation

Postby ProPuke » Sat May 06, 2006 1:28 pm

I can also confirm the bug
I've experienced sudden drops from 500 to 10fps during matches
I'd be happy to run a profile build on my machine if you can send me the binary(win32)

My suspicions are that it's occuring in the local userspace, not a driver issue
I have experienced moments of "clarity" during matches when it suddenly clears up; I also have a feeling these were during moments of lag, but I can't confirm

I'd point the finger @ the source, not the system setup
ofcourse, this is all speculation until a profile can be ran. I'm open

Another one with that problem....

My frame-rate drops from 250~85 to 45~10 when I add bots in the game...(or I play online)
