[solved] Crash after mapchange (2.5.1)

Hi,

I play Nexiuz(SDL) 2.5.1 and since this version,
the game crashes after every mapchange...

(OS: ubuntu 9.04)

Is it really every mapchange?
There is a bug in the SDL sound system which causes crashes on mapchanges, but that kind of bug doesn't appear every single time. If it is the same bug that I'm hunting down right now, I might have a fix for it. The problem is that it's hard to test a fix for a bug which doesn't dare to show its face on demand :P

Can you compile darkplaces from SVN? If you can, apply this patch:

If you can't I'll try to provide a binary, but I hate providing binaries :P

thanks for your answer..

the bug/crash appeares nealry after every mapchange,
..sometimes after a second, sometimes after a minute...

when I start the game out of the console, "segmentation fault"
is displayed after the crash..


no i cant compile from source, I hope the fix will be integrated in the next release..

I think the bug has something to do with the latest 2.5.1 release, because with 2.5 I had no probs..

try replacing your nexuiz-sdl binary with the one from http://stud4.tuwien.ac.at/~e0725517/nex ... 84.tar.bz2

hi,

under linux (ubuntu) i cant run this binary...

normally I start the nexuiz-linux-sdl.sh script ..
which accesses the nexuiz-linux-686-sdl binary ..

this binary seems to work .. :D

I played three maps without having a crash ..

I will test it a bit more, but I think it does its job now :)

Do you have a Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit fix?

SDL runs smoother for me than OGL, but the crashing makes OGL more desirable than SDL.

I'm trying to put Ubuntu 9.04 on my machine, but I'm having problems, so the Ubuntu fix is not an option for me right now. T_T
