Mac os start problem

Ok so i have downloaded nexuiz and put in applications. and when i click on nexuiz icon a thing saying you are missing somethings -basedir /path/to/game

Ok so i have downloaded nexuiz and put in applications. and when i click on nexuiz icon a thing saying you are missing somethings -basedir /path/to/game

my guess is that you just moved nexuiz.app. that would be the wrong way to do it. move the whole Nexuiz folder that you downloaded into Applications. then try both Nexuiz.app and Nexuiz-SDL.app and see which one runs better for you (for me its the SDL version). whichever one works better, just put on your dock or create an alias and put the alias wherever you want. however, the original .app file MUST remain in the Nexuiz folder you download (and you can put that where ever you want, but applications is the best place)

So...

*The downloaded folder called Nexuiz goes in Applications

*The file Nexuiz.app or Nexuiz-SDL.app (whichever works better for you) stays in the Nexuiz folder (everything actually stays there, just fyi. Don't move anything out of that folder)

You can put the Nexuiz app file that you use on your Dock and just leave it in Applications/Nexuiz OR you can create an alias (ctrl+click and hit "Make Alias") and put the alias wherever you want it. It will be called "Nexuiz alias" or "Nexuiz-SDL alias" and after you have put it where ever you want it (maybe in Applications or your desktop) then you can rename it to whatever you want.


Also, I renamed my .app files inside my Nexuiz folder. That's OK to do. If Nexuiz-SDL works better for you, I recommend renaming Nexuiz.app to something like Nexuiz1.app and then changing Nexuiz-SDL.app to Nexuiz.app (so that it's just called Nexuiz in your Dock, rather that Nexuiz-SDL. Looks better that way IMO).
