Resolution Bugg

Postby Tobberian » Fri Jun 23, 2006 5:05 pm

I can't get fullscreen in nexuiz 2.0.. why????
If i change ingame options and apply, it reloads but no difference.
I tried -fullscreen on exe.
Also tried changing in .cfg and writeprotecting it .. but still no result.

Can't change any vid options. It's always default 640 16bit fullscreen NO :?

All i can do is go as low as i can (800*600) in windows and then play in a window at almost fullscreen (640*480).

Is your windows desktop running at 32bit? If it's not, Nexuiz can't switch to 32 mode, that might be the reason why it always falls back to 640x480, 16bit.

So your monitor can't switch to 640x480? That would explain why it's in window mode...
Try switching to 800x600 (or a different resolution your monitor supports) first and switch to fullscreen afterwards.

Hmm well it kinda helped :).. but its not fullscreen, The topborder +(5) pixels of the gamescreen is outside monitor, and like 5 pixels of windows shows at bottom. If i go higher res it doesn't fit on the window, i miss outer parts. Fullscreen on off .. makes no difference.
Also it resets to 640 windowed every time i restart the game.

But this will suffice if we don't find a solution.
Only worry is if windowed mode tolls on the FPS.

It seems your monitor is not adjusted for the resolution/refreshrate and thats why the picture is off.. There is nothing Nexuiz can do about it, you just have to adjust your monitor. Normaly this can be done in the on-screen-menu or some controls at the front/bottom of the monitor.
However as KadaverJack said you should use the same color depth in Nexuiz as in Windows (thats a bug in windows).. Which should be in both cases 32bit (sometime labels true color or 24bit too) as modern graphic cards should handle 32bit just as good as 16bit.
