Ubuntu + update 2.5.2

Postby legawrique » Sat Oct 24, 2009 7:46 am

Hi there.
I got Nexuiz from repositories, when i tried to play on net - it asked me to update.
I went to this site and downloaded full 2.5.2 version in zip. If i get it right - i had just to unzip all files and folders in my nexuiz path (home/myname/.nexuiz). I did so and now when i'm running game from original link - it has no GUI. When i hit ESC it writes "You have reached this menu due to missing or unalocatable content/data" and "You may consider add -basedir /path/to/game in commandline". I added "-basedir /home/myname/.nexuiz" in the link and nothing changed.
Pls help, what me to do to update it with this archive i donwloaded? Or whatever to do to update. ty. sorry for my english and linux noobism :)

You can install Nexuiz for ubuntu quite easily from an unofficial repository - http://www.playdeb.net/updates/category/FPS#nexuiz should work fine.

If you want to use the .zip that can be downloaded, do not extract it in your ~/.nexuiz/, but rather somewhere on your Desktop or home folder. You should now use the binaries (nexuiz-linux-*) inside the zip to start the game, your menu items are likely still pointing at a very old version.
