You have two possibilities:
1) run sh nuxuiz-linux.sh
or
2) set chmod u+x nexuiz-linux.sh
and then execute it like ./nexuiz-linux.sh

Are you sure it says you have no right to install nexuiz-linux.sh? Did you maybe mean start? Because the permissions should be ok after extracting the files. Could you copy the whole error message?

Hey!!! I finally got my laptop wireless setup with Linux using the ndiswrapper. Currently Suse 9.3, but that is because that is what I had on here already from a while ago when I last experimented with Linux on this computer. I will probably wipe this install and install OpenSuse 10.2 tomorrow night or over the weekend.

So Nexuiz runs and I can hear sound, but there are severe performance issues. I can barely even navigate the menu system, and the music is very choppy, struggling to play in the background. I launched a map and started flying through it. It was about 2fps. I then went outside the map and looked at the black area, and it went to 30-50 fps (because it wasn't rendering anything).

This is the computer that I have. http://reviews.cnet.com/HP_Pavilion_zd7 ... ml?tag=nav

I am guessing that I need to install a proper video driver for this card. I am going to follow these instructions http://www.suse.de/~sndirsch/nvidia-ins ... HOWTO.html

Wish me luck!!!!

Well, I successfully setup Ubuntu 6.10 and I was able to get my WLAN to work as well as my Nvidia drivers. I Don't have the best video card, but it does okay at 800x600 with the lowest settings. Tonight, I played Nexuiz a bit on a minstagib server. Man, I have to say that it really feels sluggish compared to running it on windows. It's not necessarily a fps thing because the video it didn't seem "choppy". Though I didn't check the actual fps. I'll do that tomorrow night. It really felt like there was a slight delay when I tried to move. Of course, this type of thing is more noticeable when playing minstagib. I could probably get away with playing CTF and still have fun. Hmm...

I didn't do any xorg.conf tweaking. I simply installed followed the instructions on www.ubuntuguide.org for installing Nvidia drivers.

My sound is also not quite working. I can only hear certain sounds in the game, but it's not the gunshots and it's not the players. I can hear some ambient noises and I can hear when I land a shot. It's very strange. It's like selective-mute.

Is it more like you do not hear your own sounds? Maybe the sound driver does something wrong with the distance stuff.. i once had similar problems with windows..

Make shure you have libvorbis and libvorbisfile installed. And while we are at it: if map downloads don't work install libcurl (3). You'll find these libs in your distros package manager...
