Hey guys, I'm experiencing a lot of major problems with Nexuiz for Linux. I'm running Fedora Core 5 right now and decided to check out Nexuiz. So I run a yum install, download the game, and install it (I installed the x86_64 version just to let you know). I run the game, and as soon as I get to the main menu, the entire game is a mess. My mouse pointer is laggy as hell, the sound skips like crazy, and it's almost impossible to click on menus. Somehow I managed to start a Campaign game and go right into the first level. Wow, what a disaster. All of the textures on the wall are stretched to hell (they're all blocky and very, very, low-res) and I'm going at like five FPS. I exited the game because it was just horrible. I thought switching from Windows XP to Fedora Core 5 was a good idea...now I'm considering not to. I had a feeling the Linux would have absolutely no 64-bit support, but anyways, here's my system:
AMD Athlon64 3500+
ATi Radeon X800 Pro/GTO
Mushkin PC3200-DDR400 1 GB RAM
VIA '97 Audio Controller (integrated into the motherboard)
Fedora Core 5
So does anyone have a possible solution? Every other game I've ran (Lincity, FreeCiv, Frozen Bubble) worked perfectly fine (damn 3D Linux support!). Thanks guys.
