yum install libXxf86dga-devel

BTW, you should rather compile cl-nexuiz or sdl-nexuiz so you don't need to rename the binary at the end.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

That's both a good and a bad message... the good one is that it isn't the fault of Nexuiz and that you should try asking ATI, as the crash happens inside their driver. BTW, on the (gdb) prompt, type the command "bt" and post its output, this is the full backtrace.

The bad one is that we can't help you much with this. I have a test system, FC5 x86 with a Radeon 9600 mobile and it works there, apart from one option which is known to cause a driver crash (it is r_glsl_offsetmapping_reliefmapping and disabled by default).

However, try this:

and try again.

Turned out to be the OpenGL 2.0 shaders. All I needed to do was turn them off ... :oops:

Most of the eye candy is done via shaders.. well one does not need (and propably not want them) for online play but you will miss a lot of nice things ;)

Strange, on your system the OpenGL shaders ALONE cause a crash? Can you give us more details about your system so we can include this into the FAQ? Please post here the exact graphics card you have, the version of the ATI driver you are using and the output of the following commands (as root):

Such a problem IS known, but only for Mac OS X, which is why this option is forced off there (until now, no single OS X system is known where that feature works).

Still, it sounds like something that could be added to the nexuiz-linux...sh files... and we are just about to release 2.0.1, but it would be nice if a workaround can enter that version.

I am missing out on some of the visuals, but it's not really an issue. It's the gameplay that keeps me entertained; visuals add aesthetic value true, but that doesn't mean much if you grow tired of the action.
