The graphics card is a Raedon X700Super 512mb DDR2 PCI-Express (pci-e). Motherboard is an ASUS A8N-SLI, socket939 AMD x86_64, 2gb of DDR2, 2xSATA2 WD300 in RAID.

As for the graphics card driver, I got the instructions from http://www.fedorafaq.org/#radeon, so this is all that I know about the drivers:
Code: Select all
$ yum info kmod-fglrx
Name   : kmod-fglrx
Arch   : x86_64
Version: 8.28.8
Release: 1.2.6.17_1.2174_FC5
Size   : 811 k
Repo   : installed
Summary: fglrx kernel module(s)

Description:
This package provides the fglrx kernel modules built for the Linux
kernel 2.6.17-1.2174_FC5 for the x86_64 family of processors.

Code: Select all
$ /sbin/lsmod | grep fglrx
fglrx                 503668  8

There is some documentation under /usr/share/doc/xorg-x11-drv-fglrx-8.28.8 . I could tar it up and mail it to you, but the only good you will get out of it is a laugh, honestly it's a joke.

Apart from this, you will need to be very specific about any more information you need; I have been in over my head since you said 'perl'.

I think that should be all I need... however, I am using an older version of fglrx on my test system (namely, 8.25.18 ). Will try the one you are using soon.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I am having the exact same problem as described above. The menus load fine, I can change any settings I wish, but the game stutters and crashes as soon as I actually try to play. I will try changing the shaders as soon as I get home.

My video card is a genuine ATI X800XL AGP, using the latest ATI drivers (8.28.8). No other OpenGL app crashes like this, with the exception of UT2004, which seems to randomly crash after a few hours.
