It should be 1680x1050, most 20 inches LCD monitors use this resolution

I use ViewSonic W2025WM, but I can't choose this resolution from the option dialog, I hope 1.6 or 1.5.1 will have this option.

I corrected that resolution in SVN after Willis' post and yes, it will be selectable in 1.6.

For the time being, you can set the resolution manually. Open the console (press [shift]+[esc]) and enter

vid_height 1050
vid_restart

close the console with [esc]. (of course you can replace 1680/1050 with any values you like, you only have to do that once, the settings are saved when you quit the game)
