Game freezes after 30 seconds

Hello, I downloaded Nexiuz today, it's fun and so on but when I play online it freezes every 30 seconds. I connect to a server and after 30 seconds of play appears on the left corner of the screen a watch, and I can't move anymore and everything freezes around me.
So for information I play it on Windows XP Pro, on a Pentium 4 @ 2,4Ghz, 1Gb of DDR Ram, GeForce FX5200... but I think that it's more a connection problem then hardware...

Well if you know how I could solve this problem it would be great, thanks in advance

(My english is propably crap because I'm belgian and it's not the national language :p)

Does the same happen in local games?

Do you have a second computer? If yes, run a dedicated server there (for a start, just start the nexuiz-dedicated you see on the slower computer and in there, type "chmap dm_silvercity", and connect to it from your main PC) - does it also happen then?

I just tried it with my second computer, I started a dedicad server on the other and went on it with my main PC, and : no freezing

So how to solve the problem for the internet play ?

No idea, since that means it probably IS a connection problem not on your computer, but somewhere behind it (ISP).

First thing to try - try other servers on the internet.

BTW... you aren't using WLAN?

Where are you from? Maybe there really are no good servers near you... but maybe someone else who lives in the same country as you can start a server so you can play... it's always good to know where there is demand.

Well being belgian he should have lots of european servers at hand but it might indeed be a ISP or WLAN problem.
Did you look at the ping before or during connecting to the server? In the "Join" menu its the left-most number. The lower the better. Should be below 80 for a good experience. Ingame you can just look at the scoreboard (tab by default).
Other then not using WLAN or trying other servers there is not much to do or try. You just can't influence the network...
