My new setup (It's so damn sexy!)

Postby Psychcf » Wed Dec 27, 2006 3:15 pm

So, on Christmas, I got computer parts. This was the first time actually building a computer, I've fixed many others, however. So, Christmas eve I got my brand new sexy asus vento 3600 gaming case. That's one sexy case right there. I got it in black.

I got the hardware the next day. I got:

160 GB seagate SATA hard drive
Intel core 2 duo running at 2.44 Ghz
    2 gigs of ram
    two DVD burners
a bay-mount drawer to keep CDs and stuff in
Liquid cooling blocks for my CPU and GPU
a new NVIDIA Geforce 7600 video card
an integrated high def sound card
an intel motherboard (has like 10 USB ports and can support up to 4 SATA drives, plus has 5 or 6 PCI slots)

EDIT: I found the link to intel's page, I'm so damn lazy I didn't feel like looking it up

Sadly, I don't have a hard ethernet line up to my room, so I can't really do anything with it yet, but it's awesome. I ran nexuiz with all the features turned on, (it's not SLI, oh well) and I got up to 525 FPS, where on my old computer I had some of the features turned on and it ran at 30-40 FPS.

I don't have an ethernet line into my room yet, so I can't really use it, but I should be getting one put in some time this week. Yay. :D

The thing is this thing weighs a ton. I can barely carry the empty case up and down the stairs. So, I think my next computer will be a shuttle PC, and then mabie if I get the money I'll get a real server instead of using one of my out-dated pentium 3 computers for the job. :)

nice rig. Tho i dont like the chassi, looks like a toster or somit to me :D

i run a amd x2 3800, a gig of cl2 dc ram, 2x 120gb 16 meg cash segate ncq in stripe for storage, 2x dvdrw (both stoped working as dvdwriters a few months ago.. expensive crap lol) 6600gt agp gfx. zalman CNPS9500 LED on cpu, VF700-Cu on the gpu and ZM-NB47J on the chipset. a heavy duty nothrills all black, square chassi lined on the inside with noisekiller carpet. The resualt of all the zalman coolers and noisekiller is that the rig puts out less noise on full load then most notebooks. my old notebook is even noisier when its idle xD

The case certainly reminds me an Alien :)

Nice rig, tho some more detailed info would be nice abut the hw, but that's only showing e-penis, so it doesn't matter :)
Anyway, have fun with your new PC! :) Oh and please, don't waste it's resources on micro-software ;)
