I have a Wii. I used the Twilight Hack to install homebrew software. I put a GBA emulator on it, an nes emulator, a bunch of other emulators, and I even enabled DVD playback on it. I got a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii to make the hack possible.
Red Steel is my favorite game on it, but the blood effects are minimal and bad looking. You will occasionally see a small blackish puff if you shoot somebody in the face.
Red Steel 2 should be coming soon, and it will use the new Wii MotionPlus technology, to allow very accurate and more advanced detection of remote movements, making the sword do in the game what your hand does in meatspace.
For those who don't know, Red Steel is a first person game, mostly fps, but also with some first person sword fights where you swing the wii remote and nunchuck extention to attack, block, and counter attack.
You can even melee by swinging the nunchuck while close to an enemy to cut them down for normally lethal damge.
Damage and health is pretty straightforward too. If you take damage, take cover for a bit until you heal, just like Halo.
Fps are fun on the wii, but PCs are the superior systems for fps, imo.
My will be done.
