Mac Mini
1.5 Core Solo
2 GB RAM
Intel GMA 950 graphics :D

Will eventually drop a 2.0 C2D in here. Should help with the multi-threaded OpenGL in OSX, plus the clock speed increase + twice the cache. Too bad I can't do anything about the integrated graphics ;)

Uhhh, how will that work? Doesn't the C2D use a different socket than the core duo/solo?

There are different pin packages, for the different versions of the C2D. Remember there are 3 different chips, all in the C2D family. Merom (laptop) Conroe (desktop) Xeon (workstation/server).

The Mac Mini uses Yonah chips, but it is pin compatible with Merom. People have been doing this upgrade pretty much since the first day that the Merom's came out. There are guides all over the net on how to do it. The original CD iMac's can also be upgraded this way. As another benefit I'll be moving from a 32 bit to 64 bit machine.

I run Arch Linux on all my workstations/laptops and debian on servers...

interestingly enough i've been without windows on this box for years. until we lost our internet connection about a week ago and i was going absolutely spare. i buckled under the pressure and installed windows and a shit load of games just to pass the time. :)

Well up until 1 week ago I was using a G4 Mac PPC. I now have a windows machine running vista. Core 2 duo E6600 2.4, nvidia 768mb 8800 gtx. Man what a difference! I honestly had no idea that nexuiz looked so awesome. On my Mac I had it really stripped down. Now I can run everything on. I keep my fps capped at 75, my monitor refresh rate. Absolutely amazing

What is Radiant?

And, what is happening with the G4? Would you like to pass it on?

(You can download the daily test builds of 2.3 here http://141.2.16.3:7780/nex/ )
