Aimbotting?

I'm hesitant to accuse people of cheating. However, something about the way the person nicknamed Lisa played made me think he or she was aimbotting. On the previous map, (mojoctf), Lisa killed me more than fifty times with Nex shots, without zooming in. :x :shock: Then again, this player may have just been very, very, good.

What do you think?

I think a broader, more relevant question is, how should one react if an opponent is cheating?

Not aimbotting.
Aimbotters would be more accurate, with mechanical-looking movements. (Unless they toggle the bot or have a more complex bot that can disguise itself, and I wouldn't expect this if anyone did make an aimbot for Nexuiz)
Also, this player's use of the laserjump and double-mortar combo show that they are experienced. Cheaters usually have poor understanding of techniques, and wouldn't do such things.
About how to react if someone is cheating, just make a demo, and get their IP address from the "status" command, then report it to the server admin.

He/She might REALLY be use zooming by using a custom zoom script that changes FOV. Spectators will not see that that person is zooming then, although it does.

I use that zooming-method too. I just had a look at the demo. The player is definetely not cheating.

Yep, that Lisa was definitively not cheating. I expected it to hit more, I think anyone with above average (and maybe a little more) skills can play like that. And as Green said about such a zoom script, I use one too.

I also do not think he/she was cheating..movement in general looks ok and aiming seems to fit to that.

Though in 2.3 i think its more fun to use the buildin zoom again, just set cl_zoomspeed to -1 and choose a good cl_zoomfactor then its almost like the fov zoom script, except for a little lag. You can also change those values on the fly with setreport cl_zoomfactor xx

I'd say neither. That person was not good enough to be either of those two people. Unless it played like that on purpose, or just for fun not caring enough to put effort in it, which is NOT how morf and kojn usually plays. When they play they almost all the time play full out.

the one time i suspected aimbotting was about as follows:

a player i never played before had remarkable nex aim. Thats fair enough, but the funny part is that on nexface, i hit a person in a fast run with nex at about 90 deg angle, thus pushing the runner far off cource. 2/10 sec later, this suspected aimbotter hit the same person in air, at insane speed, and just after being hit by me thus altering cource significantly.

to calryfy_ both me and the suspected ab fired at the same person
