Hey
You didn't hurt any feelings here I think. As a matter of fact it is not that "hard" for me to create another ladder from the technical side. When I extended/coded the ladder script I built in an admin interface that allows me to create new ladders, either team or 1v1 ladders.
However, I don't think it makes sense to create another ladder which is just used by NA players. I am not specifically talking about the "Nexuiz ladders" script at planetnexuiz.com/ladders , but I mean that it would not make sense in general. The reason for this is that we still have a small community, and adding additional ladders means to split the community more. As there already is a 2on2 TDM ladder, I can't understand why additional ladders should be added that also play 2on2, just because of nationality.
All the ladders of the Nexuiz ladders are populated by players from all over the world. It is understood that you won't find challenges between a German and an Australian team or player, because it doesn't make sense to play with such a hig ping difference. But in my opinion it should work that NA teams or players challenge other NA teams, but not european teams.
Let me compare this to the AlienTrap forums: There isn't any national forum (e.g. for Germans or other countries that have a major part of players of the Nexuiz community) either, but everyone speaks English here, because this will unite the community and makes it the most effective way of communication.
The fact that the NA people you talked about the existing ladders think that they are EU centric, is because they (the NA players) didn't sign up there and played against other NA players. If they would do so, you couldn't say that they are EU cenctric anymore.
However, as morfar mentioned it, there is one issue indeed: The purpose of a ladder is to prove who is the best (the one who is ranked at the top). When EU and NA players or teams play in the same ladder there might be the situation that either an EU or a NA team is at the top, which can depend purely on the activity of each community (EU/NA) or the team's activitiy itself. But for me I would simply say that the NA team that is at the top (even though there could be an EU team that is placed 1st, and the NA team is 2nd) is still the "1st" NA team. But I am not sure whether other people could handle this situation the same way I could do it. The summary for me is that I would suggest that NA teams get into the existing 2on2 ladder, playing against other NA teams. If I can see that there is a nice activity (harhar, the EU team activity is really easy to break isn't it) we can think again about creating a seperate ladder.
