Mouse recommendations?

Postby torus » Sun Nov 11, 2007 12:35 am

My generic Kensington laser mouse just died (I dropped it, then stepped on it). I've been trying to use the touchpad on my laptop, but it fails utterly. Anyone have recommendations for me? My price range is 40-50$ max. :)

I recommend the Logitech MX400. All of the buttons work out of the box in OS X (side-scrolling, back/forward), and it's a good ergonomic, wired laser mouse for the price.
Definitely stay away from anything wireless.

You know, I thought about getting that Logitech mouse recently, but I didn't see any advantage over my old Microsoft Intellimouse. Actually, I like have buttons on both sides of the mouse instead of 2 on the left.

I looked at the razer mouses (mice, meece), but it started to seem too expensive. I do wonder if it would make a difference using a laser mouse instead of regular optical, though.

I've had the MX400 for over a year and I love it.

Ditto. No stupid gaming mouse hype about it either.

My recommendations for anyone looking for mice are:

Razer Lachesis-Personal favorite
Trust Predator-Another good mouse, better than the MX518 because of it's response time.
Logitech MX518-My previous mouse

As for mousepads I would recommend:

Corepad C1 if you prefer a cloth surface
Ulti mat Original if you prefer a hard surface
fUnc sUrface 1030 if you like plastic surfaces

Logitech G5, simply awesome, very precise laser mouse and hopefully somewhat cheap today (?)
