There's two funny things about bears:
1. i don't like any bears, except the polar ones
2. people underestimate them

Komodo dragons stand up, too, in fights. But that's no comparison. Bears may look harmless from a safe distance, but when a full-grown bear stands up in front of you it fills you with terror, because you realize it would simply squash you just by falling on you. It's as primal as the fascination for fire. Don't. Ever. Underestimate. Bears. And animals, in general. (including humans)

I always say trouble's not far away when you got primates involved in anything.

Other than that I'd put my bet on the bear, if it is a healthy one in its natural habitat. In case the fight takes place in the dragon's habitat, then it'd depend on how long the polar bear would have had to spend in that climate...

Well, as for the komodo dragon vs. polar bear argument, it depends on who's turf they're fighting on. If it's on fresh snow, then the polar bear just has to wait for a while as then it's safe to assume that he komodo is frozen solid and will be useful as a club for any nearby seals. If on the other hand the polar bear finds itself in the komodo's natural habitat, it should ask itself wtf it's doing and swim it's way home or find a refrigerated container suppler as a matter of urgency.
