Console binds, (help please)---Nexuiz

Hey, I was wondering, how do I do this console stuff. Ive played Tremulous and I'm an admin on 4 servers, but the console is much different in this game. (how would I do simple stuff like Say binds?)
In tremulous its like:
/bind 1 say ^5Its over, ^9Give up.
or
/bind 2 say_team Stage 3!!!
But it says "unknown command" for everything I try to do. Some help please?

nexuiz console don't use /

bind x "say ^5Its over, ^9Give up"
bind y "say_team Stage 3!!!"

you can also use the user defined binds in the settings>input menu.

So I wouldnt type /, just type normaly as if it wasnt a bind? oh...
thanks! one more question though: How would I bind something to do an action (IE, drop a weapon)?

With the input menu you can bind all the useful commands : drop weapon is in the teamplay heading.

by default :
bind BACKSPACE "dropweapon"
