Did you know: Runematch works quite much like that, except there is 5 of these objects instead of just one.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

RuneMatch? I'll look into that

Just for a reference: Holy Wars Rules. I played it with Quake 2, though.

What I liked about the game: It is everyone against the saint/rogue/..., which gives sort of a team-feeling for the non-saints/non-rogues/... (where the "team" is quite dynamic, because everyone can become the saint/rogue at any time, and there is no need to worry about balanced teams as in real team games).

I also found it quite appealing for beginners, because even if they may become saint/rogue/... only on rare occasions, and thus making low scores, at least as non-saint/non-rogue/... they don't get fragged that often, which feels less frustrating. If people prefer a fun gameplay over ranking, that is.

Halo had something like this too but it was highly configurable (I only played it a few times though).

The basic concept is the same... one player picks up a special item and then everyone else has to kill him to get it. The settings changed what happened when you had the item or didn't have it, e.g.

Options while "it"/"rogue"/whatever:
increased/decreased health
increased/decreased strength
invisible
faster/slower
frag multiplier
marked by waypoint sprites so all other players can find you
points awarded at regular intervals while remaining "it"

Options while not "it"
inc/dec health/speed
no points except for killing "it"



Basically this would be a very tweaked version of rune match (perhaps we could just replace rune match with this, or add the configuration options to enable rune match to be played this way). This would probably be much more fun than the current implementation.

It's called the Juggernaut/ninjanaut game mode from Halo 2. And I think it would be awesome in Nexuiz, although Nexuiz needs some more maps suited to it (I'm making one right now).

i don't remember halo having this... but will my idea be used????
