I believe I read a very good set of rules on how to post on a forum some time ago, but I forgot where it was and I don't find it anymore at the moment. Maybe somebody would post a link to something similar, since KillaGrunt mentioned to be open for improvement.
Until then, it would, in my humble opinion, help a lot, if you did as follows:
1) THINK before you post. Post only if your message adds information to the forum or helps people understand what you are on about.
2) Reread your text before you post it. Would you understand the intention of your text if you were someone else?
3) Try to use comprehensible language.
Keep in mind that whenever you are asking people for help on a forum, you are asking them to spend time in answering your post. If you display yourself as an idiot that does not even know how to articulate himself, they most likely will not see any sense in seriously answering your posts. Instead, you will make people getting angry at you and calling you a troll. Usage of correct grammar and spelling might help getting around the "idiot" impression as well.
(Considering this, I wonder why I wrote this post, but anyway the point remains valid.)
