tChr said: How does nexuiz even work on a modem line by the way? if i rrecall correctly with 8 players you hit a bit over 100kilobit traffic...

It was not a question for you dark_link, butyou might have interest in the answers, as I'm not sure its possible to play nexuiz online with a modem. Do you know yourmodem speed?

I answered you wrong! I send 3,407,549 bytes per second and I recieve
13,676,402 bytes per second. However, I don't know how many kilobytes that is.

Erm, that would be 13 Megabytes per second downstream. That's fast enough to download Nexuiz in less than 15 seconds :P
There has to be something wrong with those numbers :)

Its not even remotely possible to get those speeds with modem on a regular phone line. Even ADSL isnt that fast, you need SHDSL to get those speeds... So I'm with kadaver.. those numbers are wrong.

13,676,402 (bytes per second) = 104.342667 megabits per second
That is much faster than dial up internet. Are you certain about the numbers and the units?

Edit: I clicked reply when there were no replies yet, The lesson here is to reload pages instead of using back/forward. At least my answer was unique.

Yeah, maybe it's wrong, it has changed now, it is 45.2 kbps (kilobytes per second). I think my dell is screwed up or something, but the way I'm getting this info is I'm going to the bottom right of my computer screen :you know where the 2 computers are? I then wait until some info pops up. Can anyone tell me what this is? I think it may be my internet connection status, and I don't know what difference it makes, but I have bellsouth internet service, which is dial-up.

That 100Mbps would have been a local connection.
