Fresh meat

Postby monster munch » Fri Nov 21, 2008 12:00 pm

Just thought I'd post a hello message.

Really impressed with Nexuiz, although it's the first time in years that I've played an FPS on the PC (1st since ROTT). Not played anything online before yesterday, but really pleased with how friendly other players are.

Got a polite request to leave a newbie server earlier, so apolgies if I put anyone's back up - not sure how, as I suck (can't get the hang of mouselook, so am playing with a DualShock, which makes me quite a slow aim). Not sure what the rules of online behaviour are, so hope I don't step on any toes.

Keep up the good work everyone! Looking forward to seeing you all in game in the rare chances I'll get to play. Big thanks to Alientrap for the great game.

Welcome! Nexuiz can always use another friendly blob of fresh meat :oD

Regarding existing rules on online behaviour - I believe the most positive game experience you will have when you always stay polite, no matter what. Also, you might want to look at this thread http://forums.alientrap.local/viewtopic.php?t=3503 if you want to be REALLY polite ;o)

Don't forget also to look at http://forums.alientrap.local/viewtopic.php?t=1344 for great tips on how to actually play the game. I found this thread far too late and ran around half a year without a clue whatsoever. Stupid me, since all those tips are also included with the game... but who reads fancy tutorials and readmes?

Useful training videos can also be found on http://www.nexuizninjaz.com.

Enjoy!

Welcome to Nexuiz, I'm glad you like the game. I've been playing it since version 1.2.1 a few years ago and I'm pretty confident it will keep getting better and better, all you need to do is keep playing :D.

About the newbie server... Perhaps it was the deathmatch newbie server? Most new players should start off there, but if you whip the asses of most people playing on that one you should probably move on to other servers.

Looking forward to playing alongside or against you, hope to see you soon. :)

P.S.: Check out all the game modes (there is also a singer player campaign that can be useful to get the hang of most of the stuff), there are quite a few (and keyhunt, as far as I know, is only present in Nexuiz).

Thanks everyone.

Minstagib and CTF seems to be the order of the day when I check the servers, so I'm mostly sticking to Minsta to get my aim up.

Looking forward to killing and being killed!
