The question was not the spelling of any word, but the difference between the US and UK versions of the past tense form of the word 'spell' (spelled/spelt).

Using an apostrophe for pluralising a word has always been wrong. However, before the 1990s (ie the 1980's) it was OK to use an apostrophe when pluralising numbers, abbreviations and acronyms to show that the s was not part of it.

IIR my school english C, you can very well use "can" in thsi case, if the question is weither its is physically possible for you to do the action of clicking it
