I need a decent firewall for Windows NT

My hardware firewall provides a nice simple to use web interface. Most will.

Well, i've got the "deluxe" version of the router he suggested... It runs Linux and you can use your own distro if you like (http://openwrt.org). So it's as secure as a software router, since it's running the same kernel and software :)

Also software routers can be used to control single applications which a HW router can not do because it only sees the network packages. The firewill on the computer also knows about the processes and stuff..

Well, you can use content filtering of packets and UPnP to archive that kinda thing on external router :)
