NASA detects an unkown booming mystery sound in deep space.

EXTRA EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!
I'm gonna be quoting Terry from 3D Buzz and a piece from the link:

Joker (3D Buzz) wrote:Wow, this is starting to get creepy, First Nasa finds a Bright unexplained flash in the sky that takes 3 months to fade out. Secondly, an object the size of Rhode Island comes zooming into our solar system and promptly disappears, and now this.

News link wrote:Call Dr Arroway, because NASA has detected a deep space sound that defies belief or any explanation. They don't have a single clue about its origin, according to Alan Kogut from the Goddard Space Center:

The universe really threw us a curve. Instead of the faint signal we hoped to find, here was this booming noise six times louder than anyone had predicted.

According to NASA, "the source of this cosmic radio background remains a mystery". It's not primordial stars, it's not any known radio source, and in fact, the problem here is that there is "not enough radio galaxies to account for the signal". In other words, nothing in the known cosmos is capable of producing this deafening sound. University of Maryland at College Park's Dale Fixsen—part of NASA's ARCADE team— says, that to get this kind of signal, "you'd have to pack [radio galaxies] into the universe like sardines. There wouldn't be any space left between one galaxy and the next". So in more scientific terms: They don't have a flying frak about what the hell this may be.

Why should NASA have a clue about it? They should leave that to astrophysicists.

Could be the space pirates signaling for a temporary truce or even better an army of space babes looking for a party. Rock on!
Most likely no.

Someone got one of those remote control flying saucers for kweznuz. They were flying it close to a radiotelescope.

before some weeks there was in Alien show in our TV (obviously by Uri Geller  )
they sent some 'messages' into space from a Ukrainan military station (why should THEY get access there? anyway they had just old screens and it looked like an old windows).
I dunno if some aliens answered :P there were also 2 people who said they get kidnapped by aliens regular(!). i just thought "stfu" and switched the channel ;)

Are you saying NASA have no astrophysicists?

lol no. Everything that involves Uri Geller is bullshit.

Now back on topic.
Sound from space is interesting. This can of course be a rare but natural cosmic sound that is yet unkown. Or it can be a message (or part of a message) from intelligent life. We should keep en open mind (within reason).

Where the heck is the wav/ogg/mp3 by the way? :P

People have been asking for that on 3D Buzz as well. If I find the sound file I will post it.

Good idea - could you post the source files then too, so that we can make that sound GPL and use it for Nexuiz? From the description it shouldn't be too hard to find a use for it.

:P
<Community>: Why was the name "Nexuiz" licensed to IllFonic in a way that allows IllFonic to use the name without any suffix or subtitle for a commercial console game?
