It works and looks great!
I made a quake/ folder and put the nexuiz-linux-x86_64-glx and paks in a id folder there. It woudnt play without the -game id1. It reads my ~/.nexuiz/data/ config. I'll put another config.cfg in quake/ and see if that gets read. I have no icons for the weapons, health or armour. I dont remember rotweilers dying of one slash of the axe on nightmare skill, right? Two shots for a grunt means I wont run out of ammo like I sometimes did. Ogres are still thick-skinned, but they are smaller than i remember. If I press the key for rl before I pick it up, I get every weapon with full ammo.
Quake is so pretty (except the shambler bolts that look smaller now) and feels much better. It's alot easier with air control, maybe too easy. I took a screenie of a fiend fighting an ogre.
Maybe I'll try with a pure darkplaces engine. Thanks, if I knew it was this easy I would have done it long ago.
**EDIT** ====Contains Spoiler==== I used darkplaces and it worked great. If I could get my (smaller cyan) xhair on q1 there's no stopping me from telefragging Shub-Niggurath. **EDIT**

And yes, Watchmen is the best graphic novel ever. Black Hole is quite nice too.
