Good move for what?

amd cpu and ati gfx card? In windows maybe, in linux no. I would never recomend ati to anyone in any os atm. Ati, sadly, just cant seem to make solid drivers for their products and their linux support is (from what i read.. never tried it myself) plain rubbish.

i dont think theres mutch of a diffrance in how you compine intel or amd cpus with nvidia or ati cards in general from a hardware point of view. Thats more up to the individual mobo and gfx card in terms of preformace and stability.

I disagree.

AMD getting involved in ATI might very well result in us getting decent drivers for Linux finally, wich would be a _very_ good thing.

I have AMD and ATI Radeon 9200 working great on Xandros Linux (debian) but my graphics driver on Win XP crashes on a weekly basis. Usually when playing Nexuiz. :x
