It may have been made in 1999, but this movie was obviously well planned and made. Best silent short film I've seen.

I really like how they chase the bad guy with whatever they can find, including a stool . All in all it's funny :). Also the doll animation is well made.

Well iirc the prodution was like this. A friend of mine made that music piece sometime in 1997 or so. And one saturday in may 1999 I had some time to spare, and I wrote a short manuscript for this film, including wich scenes should be included (actually, we forgot to shoot one that were supposed to go in between where the "wolf" leaves the house and the mother comes home, around 01:50).

The we called around for our friends, and Ulf and I got together enough people to create this thing. We shot around different places in trondheim for 11 hours straigh, for instance the scene with the guy raking his lawn is shout around 05:30 in the morning, and the searching through the forset is shot around 02:00 at night :) The umping in the water was the last we made, and that was shot around 10:00 in the morning i guess. The funnies was chasing him down the main street in trondheim (with the curch in the background) at 06:00 in the morning XD with the cameraman sitting in the trunc of the car :D

Then Ulf and I sat down for another 10 hours and cut it together. So its pretty much 24 hours of work. Ifs filmed with a Sony Betacam, so the cutting had to be done linear, wich made things a bit slow.

A lil extra info:
We only had one camera, and I am the one jumping into the water. Feel free to calculate the amount of jumps needed. Then think about how _warm_ the water is in Norway in may. :D

Edit: one more thing.. the dolls are not animated, they are puppeteered.

Edit: Digression:
My name means "bear"m "ulf" means "wolf".. nice crew, huh?

Oh, I thought they were moved and shot frame by frame like they did with the Imperial Walkers in Star Wars :).

It's actually a lot more work than it may seem at first sight but from the viewer's point of view it's worth it. I don't know if I'd think the same way if it was me there in the water, but it does sound fun :D.

Actulally, I think its too "perfect".. its a textbook example of how to make things, and not enough personal artistery in it.. but its good for what its ment to be :) Oh and remember we made this when we were.. hmm.. 20 and amateurs.. now we are studying it full time XD I am putting work into joining the Student TV in Trondheim again (where we worked when we made this) and I'll let you know if anything new is made :)
