Nexuiz 2.4.2 released!

Not really.. The only thing that was available was the hotfix to test and find bugs so the 2.4.1 would have been perfect. But as this hotfix was out for a long time a lot of people had the impression 2.4.1 was already released and there was lots of talk on irc and some servers about this 'version'.
So just to make sure that people notice its out now for real and that there still were some changes compared to the latest hotfix this release is called 2.4.2 !

I just DL 2.4.2 unzipped and started it and it rewrote my config,cfg, My config was very similar to https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1905426&group_id=81584&atid=563407

What does rewrite mean? config.cfg gets (re)written each time you exit the game.. what is different about it now or what change is bothering you?

Most of my keybinds have been reset, the player model and player name have also been reset.

I now have a virgin config.cfg except for the entries from autoexec.cfg

I deleted the contents of the 2.4 folder, extracted 2.4.2 to another folder and then moved the 2,4,2 files into the 2.4 folder, I didn't have any version of the Hotfix.

Maybe you deleted config.cfg along with the contents? No idea otherwise at the moment..

My config and autoexec are in /home/victim/.nexuiz/data and 2.4.2 is in /home/victim/game

I tried my config from https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1905426&group_id=81584&atid=563407 and another config from a backup.

Neither of the replacement configs has been deleted

I change my player name and model quite a lot, I have also changed a few keybinds with the console.

As the config.cfg appears to be being read and saved as expected, I'll assume that there was a problem with the original config.

Crylink is more useful now. Primary bullets bounce 1 time and the radius is much larger. DPS is lower though.

Changelog say some other weapons where tweaked. I wonder which and how?

Did you count the bounce damage in your calculations?

An optimal crylink shot is a shot right in front of the player, when you're close to him, so that he gets the splash damage from the bounce of the 4 shots, and then direct damage from them.

Upgraded, played and reported. Version came up as 2.4.1 though.

Odd, for me the version reports as 2.4.2 just fine. Maybe a problem with your config?
