Inspired by the topic about the DCC servers (http://forums.alientrap.local/viewtopic.php?t=948) i also want to present news about the planetnexuiz.de servers.

First of all a short apology to all the people that used the servers to host files. Due to a hardware AND backup failure basically all the stuff on the server was lost and its being slowly rebuild.

The Nexuiz servers, Havoc servers, Nexuiz-Ladder servers, mapdownload, mumble VOIP server and basic stuff is already back again. All the ladder servers run the current released version while the other nexuiz/havoc servers run the development version from the svn repository to help with testing that new code.

I'm currently trying to find good maps for all the public servers (TDM, CTF). The Havoc servers basicly run the same settings but with the havoc mod. You will see those servers if you switch to the 'Havoc Mode'. I tried and added a bunch of CTF maps over the last few days. If you want to see maps on those server please speak up! If i like the suggestions i'll add them :-)

Try Laminar and Effluent for the map list

By the way, what are the addresses for the mumble servers? I've never been able to find any that work back when there were teamspeak servers

Good to see everything up and running again, I had been wondering where the servers had dissapeared to.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.

a proper list ? bad joke
aggressor-ctf_r3, bloodprisonctf, dance,dusty, evilspacectf, greatwall_remix are getting way to narrow with more then 4 player per team

loderunner_beta1 got a horrible item placement

hydronexb7 and egyptronex-b1 are identlical gameplaywise

you forgot to add cbctf 1 cbctf4 greatwall reloaded/overloaded fighter-bay hourglass killall_organic Skyshaper SmallVents/rustyVents and pyramidb3

I do not want to put only 'perfect' maps on the server.. lodrunner has a bad scale if you ask me, the item placement is mostly ok however and feels like a copy of some map i know from quake4 ctf.. Not sure if that map has some other roots too. But people need a place to play those maps and give suggestions on improving the maps..

Those maps however might be removed later on if people do not like the maps or the mapper is unwilling to improve the map.

I guess the same goes for the 'identical' maps. Some like one more then the other, why restrict the server to only one of them? It would only be bad if several such maps turn up at once in the voting screen :-)


Hourglass is a good map in general but it has several map BUGS that can be exploided to hide (or at least to be very hard to find).. I'd love to put a fixed version of the map on the server. Similar how accident v2 was not on my server before 2.5 was out with a fixed version of it.

And no, i think dance is a great map that can be played 6on6 (which my server is) though you are right, 4on4 is more like the perfect number of players for it. However the server is not always full..

Skyshaper SmallVents/rustyVents and pyramidb3 not sure about those.. i'll take a look at them.
