But the thing is that the current site admin and server owner has told me he is not interested in the project anymore. My attempts to have the site transferred to me have gone unnoticed or unanswered up til now.
Those didn't go unanswered. I said "ok that can be done" and then I didn't hear from you anymore. The most reliable part of this site has been me, so don't act like I'm lagging. I'm always available. I'm always on IRC every single day. I am always accessible. If anything needed to be changed, I could be available to make the change.
As far as the blog features, defining what gets shown on the front page and what gets shown when you click on the blog entry, that is definable per entry and the editors would be the ones who would make sure that happens properly.
As far as leaving comments on blog entries, the idea was that we would use the forum for conversation and the blog entries would have links to forum threads. This would be better than having separate conversations on the blog and conversations on the forum. It's best to have it in one place.
The blog entries could be presented better. More images. Better formatting. All of that rests on the shoulders of the editors.
I think the main issue with this news site is that it is not part of the main alientrap site, so nobody even knows it exists. This thread wasn't a great way to announce it. The domain name isn't even in the title. It should say "New site: NexuizNews.com"
So since the site doesn't get much attention, contributors lost interest and stopped contributing. That almost changed when -z- suggested to pull in RSS feeds from NexuizNews.com into the nexuiz.com news page. But that idea got shot down by Div0 because he doesn't like that shaggy would be a contributor (even though we have an editor workflow in place).
