data pk3 is a zipped version of the compiled files and images, models, etc.

my NDT script will generate one for you (though I'm not 100% sure on the accuracy according to release standards, it may include some extra files).

this is my basezym folder
Code: Select all
progs.dat
progs.lno
menu.dat
menu.lno
csprogs.dat
csprogs.lno
data.pk3 (from nex)

nex's pk3 makes it crash. i need zymotics data and aren't seeing it in the svn.

Didn't realize you wrote this in the Zymotic forum when I replied. I'm not really sure what's required by zymotic.

fyi, nexuiz's progs.dat and csprogs.dat are in it's data.pk3; this doesn't really matter in this case because the external files are taking precedence but I thought you should be aware.

I also never got a clear answer about what the lno files do but they no one seemed to say they were anything important.

A bit OT but.. they contain line numbers and other debug info so that qc crashes/warnings can actually produce a message that makes (more) sense.

<Diablo> quake1 never had a weapon like that.
<Vordreller> there was no need for anything over 4GB untill Vista came along

Yes, except that DarkPlaces does not support them. They are for FTE only.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

The data SVN is not open to the public yet, just the QC source is public. So you won't be able to run it yet,
