I will be recording a review about Nexuiz (which is superb software) this evening and still have 4 questions where I would like some feedback on. I hope this forum can spare me a bit of its time :

1. ) how the <bleep> do you pronounce Nexuiz ?

2. ) do you players have the same addiction with Nexuiz as you would have with the Quake saga's ? why or why not ?

3. ) what could be improved in the game according to you ?

4. ) what is your age ( are you all 35 or is this just a rumour )

1. I pronounce it "Nex-whizz", others pronounce it "Nex-yes", I think there are some more regional dialects in between

2. umm, for me, I dunno...

3. the models and the game's inet connection sensivity. Actually it's great like it is. Haven't found anything better, even at the commercial games.

4. I'm 39, I know players up to 50, but I think most are in the mid twenties.

Its just pronounced Nexiuz.. when you start it listen for the 'welcome to ...' annoucer. There is a rumor that the final name was the result of a typo when registering the domain but noone alive was able to confirm this

Not sure what you mean.. i liked Nexuiz since the first time i played version 1.0 .. almost 1.5 years ago now? I think i spend enough time with Nexuiz to earn my forum title

Oh a lot of stuff could be improved. Better playermodels, faster fps, better demo format, NexTv and some other features. But in general its ok and for example the next version will get improved netcode and some eyecandy which should really help a lot already.

Secret but still below 30

1. I pronounce it nex-u-iz / nex-ooiss / nexjuis or however to speill it.
2. I hadnt played anything since Q1 when i found nexuiz, and I've spent too much time with it since
3. Improved: lots of small tings, but the game has dome to the point where we have started discussing fiddling, so I'd say that overall its i pretty good shape.. We nedd better (more optimized) player models, and some fiddling with the sond files is needed, as they are badly normalized and adjusted, however thats the kind of stuff you only kno if you have worked with them.
4. I'm 28. Esteels birthday is 1978-11-2X<secret> iirc so hes 28 too

1. I pronounce it as it spells (pretty much how that announcer says it when you start the game). With other words: Ne-xu-iz

2. I don't know the addiction for those game but I can say that I spend at least 50% of my free time doing something involved around Nexuiz and it's community. (Playing, browsing forums, check up the IRC channels etc.)

3. Lots of people already mentioned it and I agree with them so instead of retyping it just read up on others.

4. I'm 22. I just got that as my birthday was 24 Jan. Well, just and just.. I still feel kinda new to my 22

1. I say it Nex-yoo-iz, even though the "official" pronunciation is Nex-ee-us.
2. I think the active community and noticeable development alone makes it addictive to keep up on. Recently there's been a lot of US server activity, which is getting me more into online play (in the past only the EU servers would get a lot of traffic, and those are usually laggy for me)
3. New player models, new menus, maybe a new weapon (like an actual grappling gun), CSQC scoreboards to separate team scores from player scores (helps in CTF), maybe a few new songs for the soundtrack.
4. I'm 18.

2. I never really played q1, q2 got me really hooked tho. q3 has crap imo. Im proly more addicted to Nexuiz then any of the quakes's
3. Many things, the day theres nothing left to make better will be a boring one.
4. Im 28. I think the general age of nexuizers(tm) is higer then most other games.

1.: I'm pronouncing it like the announcer says : Nexiuz.
2.: Addicted to Nexuiz? I'm addicted to all old-school FPS, my favorite game of all time is Quake2 (real true love), but nowadays I only play Nexuiz online (maybe little QW). But I love this game very much, and I'm making maps for it too now and then
3.: I could only second all the aboves. CSQC (client side Quake C) will improve much (more things to configure client side), but the game badly needs new, optimized models (and md3 models for players).
4.: I'm 20.

1. I also pronounce it like the announcer.
2. I only played single player Q1, and my old computer couldn't handle Q2. I missed out on Q3 completely.
3. As a whole, the current release of Nexuiz is in fantastic shape, especially compared to some previous versions. The main points for improvement were covered well enough by everone else. One thing we need, though, is more North American servers. If I am not mistaken, currently all North American servers are located on the East Coast.
4. I'm 21.

2. I played Q2 a bit on the PS (...), quite alot Q3 Arena, but only offline, and now I play Nexuiz since it was released and it is more or less the only game i play and thats since almost 2 years now.
3. There is always room for improvement although Nexuiz has matured *alot* since the initial release. My wish is some more improvement considering engine performance, even if that has gotten much better until now.
4. I am 23

Ive listened though your cast, and just for your information you will probably do better with a fast GForce card than an ATI, the point is that you can use a old crappy gforce card and still play, or _any_ new card that supports OpenGL.
