Ok, I'm not gonna take it easy now.

In the past ferw weeks, I realised, that our community is growing. It's a good thing.
The bad: there are lot's of "easy to start a flame", offending replies. Everybody knows, who said something offensive in the past few days, so I'm not gonna tell nicks here. I realy hope, it's just the moon, or everybody is writing here while drunk, tho I'm afarid, this is not the case...
tZork noted, that nobody likes trolls. And he's right. Our community is famous for it's kindness, for it's nice behavior with newcommers. I know this, I'm an old nexuiz player, tho not the oldest here, but I'm playing since 1.0, and I'm reading the forums before the game got released.
This forum was always a happy place. I only know two peoples that got banned from here: a spammer, and that idiot MikeeUSA. Please don't grow the list.

So to any new members: this is a nice place, so behave! If you wanna say something, that you know it will offend anybody, or just very cinic, then just STFU! Or at least insert a on the end, so at least they'll know it's only a joke.

Sorry, I'm a cocksure supporter of free speech and I really hate all kinds of fascism. I don't mind some etiquette rules, but nobody will tell me what or how to talk. Stuff like that makes me sick. We don't need that kinda discussion atm.

Rather trixy. i dont like telling ppl what to do or say. However just keeping silent until it gets to much and suddenly banning / moderating aint a good way either imo. immature unnecessarily provocative posts are just the kind of stuff that sparks meaningless flaming and hostility; not the kinda stuff i think any sensible person wants in the end.

Fighting fire with fire dont work to well; nor does sitting back and just hoping it will go away. So yeh telling ppl to stfu and / or what (not) to say sucks and is sometimes totally necessary.

Yeh indeed, getting some of those, in writing, for this forums would make it mutch easier to keep things fair.

I haven't written any nicks, becouse I was not thinking about anybody realy. Nobody, realy. I just think we're more mature here, everybody knows, who and when said anything offending, but the best would be, if we won't start to pointing our fingers to eachother, "whooo, haaaa, that shithead said something bad, omg stfu him ban him kthxbye." etc. No, this starts flame. Moderation needed, in a mature and intelligetn way, you should know that too. Letting everybody to do what they want spawns chaos. Like I said, nobody said anything realy bad, but I notoiced that something was in the air. I think it's better to prevent the bad before it happens, than standing it, when it happened. So that's why I started this thread.
Btw about moderation, we know all our moderators, and I can't realy remember any serious case (except MikeeUSA, but he's always an exception) that they've showed their powers. Becouse there was no need for moderation. And I hope there won't be any need too.

What's the problem exactly? I haven't seen anyone trolling lately, and I've only seen a few comments which were construed as offensive, and it all got worked out in the thread.

Let's just trust people to be mature, and if they aren't, trust other people to keep them in line. There's no need to have a hernia over the fact that sometimes people shoot off their mouths. Google for "forums" and pick the first three, and see how much spam and trolling takes place there, before you start getting paranoid O.o

Oh and Brutail "really" is spelled with two L's Yeah, I'm kinda a spell freak. I have this friend who just gets like at least 5 errors each sentence. And he has no illness so I constantly say how bad his spelling is. Of course, in a joking way, not a serious manner, otherwise he would already punched me And I see tZork is not too far away from my friend

And back on topic again: I agree with urmel a bit. I too don't like to be told what to say, when to say it. But I also agree with Brutail of getting this point out. It's common sense not to bash out something inappropriate and behave. But I would have asked it nicely. If that didn't work... BAN

Well yeah there have been a few (maybe too) sarcastic comments but i think sofar it was still ok. But next time it would be nice if you do not do so in the thread of a new player that is seeking help. I do not want them to mistake some jokes as 'real tips'
