I think the have to be in "*.pk3". To install them: drop the *.pk3 files in the "data" folder.

  • It would be best to distribute them in a pk3 file, but you can add maps to Nexuiz by putting their files in Nexuiz/data/maps/

  • The .pk3 is just a renamed zip file with the correct direcotry structure inside it. The maps can just as easliy be added directly to the file structure, but ehn they are more than one file, its much more convenient to distribute them as .pk3s :)

Take a look at the data*.pk3 file with a zip tool and you see how it works

  • I guess almost every thing was told about this matter.. But if you add a map as .bsp only you will not be able to choose it from the map selection dialog in the 'create game' screen. You will need a *.mapcfg file too for this. And some others *.txt, *.jpg to make it really nice. See Nexuiz/Docs/mapping.txt for more info or take a look at the maps folder in the Nexuiz/data/data*.pk3 file.
If then the map does work like you want it to its best to put all your files into a .pk3 file of their own.
