  • Instead of actually studying at varsity, I'd like to connect to the local nexuiz server. Problem is that the university has an authentication proxy, how do I configure nexuiz to work with it?

  • Nope, it doesn't give me an option to.

I've tried running it from the command line with the (bash) http_proxy variable set, but no dice.

  • Nexuiz doesn't run through HTTP proxies, so - sorry. It uses a UDP based protocol...

there is software to tunnel UDP protocols over HTTP, but don't expect good performance from that... also it requires you running a server outside the restricted network.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
    3. Save
    4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

  • Hehe...

to get a slight chance, check if your proxy supports SOCKS5... if it does, you may have a chance.
