    Again, big thanks to www.purepressure.com for providing server infrastructure. They've got it hosted with Velocity which is peered with GameRail. You should have a great experience. If you play UT2004, CS:Source, or Q4 -- you should check out purepressure for weekly tournament, pick-up games, etc...

  • Awesome.
    But...

    Are those servers going to rotate through TDM/DM/CTF as opposed to sticking with one game mode for each?

  • I'm also unsure about the default player skin. You don't need that in regular DM or TDM or CTF. The only time I ever use that model is when the server doesn't have g_fullbrightplayers 1 (which this server does) or when playing 1on1.

  • i'll see how the models look with just brightskins and no forced model on our test server... traditionally, i prefer force-model in UT/Quake because some models suck and it forces a consistent look (some models are thinner or fatter than others). i understand casual play might prefer custom models but these servers are focused on competitive standards.

    /// @ Doku -

    The server is set to randomly pick a map if nobody votes... so it could change between DM, TDM, and CTF. Otherwise, a vote list of 10 will appear after each match. It will include a variety of gametypes, most of which will be DM or TDM.

    Since there will be 3 servers in 3 different locations, i felt it would be better for the people playing on the server to decide what gametype to play. Voting mid-game is allowed too. In the past few nights, the collective group playing on the temp LA server has enjoyed cycling through a few different gametypes. But a majority of the time, it's DM or TDM... and usually people follow the lead of someone that REALLY wants to play a certain map or type.

    If you want the server to become popular, I suggest you remove these maps from the maplist as fast as humanly possible.

  • Thanks for these servers. But please remove the maps from the TDM list that are supposed to be played with maxplayers of 2 anyway please. Example: Soylent, Aggressor, basement (btw basement can be removed from 1on1 pool as well since is sucks), downer, evilspace, farewell, runningman, skyway, warfare

    The mentioned maps are of course suitable for 1on1, but NOT for more than 2 players, so TDM is pointless.

    And I also wouldn't recomment to remove RunningmanCTF from the CTF pool!
