I'm going to be bouncing around the next few days for danksgiving but lets try to sort things out on Saturday. Keep in mind, we'll need to through together some quick tutorials for players to get setup and such.

I'm still waiting for teachers to commit... I don't mind taking the lead on organizing this project but please don't make me chase you guys... I need serious volunteers. If we want to attract more players, we need to do this proper.

Unfortunately I don't have a way to provide a euro server, so someone else would need to step up for that if deemed necessary.

Just make lesson .avi/.dem's and distribute those.

We have started that already. However, having a school with a mumble server enables players to ask questions and spectate amongst other things.

Sweetness, now time to get the mumble or TeamSpeak server up and get the word out.

There is already a Nexuiz TeamSpeak server at pn.de; I can also host one if Germany is too far.

Is mumble available for Mac? A very fast google search turned up nothing of the sort, but i know TeamSpeak is available for all 3 platforms.

Again, I am committed to teaching everything I can. Let's keep this moving.

UPDATE: Went ahead and put up a TeamSpeak Server. It's in the server list as "Nexuiz School Server", or use pavlvs.kicks-ass.net:8767.

Teachers will be able to register with a user name and password, which will allow them to turn their dots red to differentiate themselves. I will also give trusted people ops.

Not trying to supplant your server and your help, but I am seeing a lot of noobs on Macs, and I don't find any indication that there is a Mumble client for Mac :\. I already have a TeamSpeak server up, so it was easy to throw another one up.

This isn't going to be just for beginners. I'm sure even the best players can still learn something. You can read posts, watch demos/videos and chat on IRC, but you get all that combined with a live class.
